I submitted a choral piece (actually my first choral piece) for the Paretsky Award for Creativity...and I won! The Sara and Mary Edwards Paretsky Award for Creativity recipient must be a woman student completing her junior year who has demonstrated creativity and originality in her chosen field. The exploding tulip metaphor was the basis of my creative statement for the piece.
I'm still sorting out the emotions associated with this....joy, affirmation, and the uncomfortable wriggling of trying on a new shirt that doesn't quite fit yet.
But one thing's for sure...an exploding tulip can never go back to it's orignial shape. :)
